Hifu works by delivering focused ultrasound energy at precise depths and temperatures to initiate neocollagenesis, but without disrupting the surface of the skin.
This energy jump-starts the collagen building process to replace old, aging collagen with fresh, new collagen. This new collagen works to lift and tighten the skin with natural, noticeable results.
This procedure bypasses the surface of the skin, and delivers targeted energy specifically into the deep, structural tissues and muscles where collagen lives.
HIFU involves penetrating ultra-sound energy to stimulate collagen production in the deep dermal and sub dermal levels, which results in micro injury to that tissue. As the tissue heals, it increases collagen and as the collagen fibers organize and shorten which creates a tightening effect on the skin.
About the Procedure:
Our HIFU treatment starts with a consultation to discuss your goals and your related history so we can help you choose the best procedure to help meet your needs.
Once we begin your treatment, your skin will be cleansed and a gel is applied to the area. The HIFU applicator is then applied gently to the skin, working across the entire area. This lasts between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on the area.
How Many HiFu treatments will I need?
Most patients only need one treatment. However, based on the degree of skin laxity, the biological response to ultrasound energy and the individual's collagen-building process, some patients benefit from additional treatments. Because skin continues to age, future touch-up treatments can help with the natural aging process.
